20 Days and Counting

It's a sunny and cool 37 degrees here in Los Gatos this morning.  Visiting with my great friend, my Mom and doing "chick things" has been both relaxing and fun.  Manicures, pedicures, haircut, lunch and talking the hours away.  It's certainly enjoyable to splurge on these treats as roughing it is right around the corner.

Today I drive up to the beautiful and funky city of San Francisco and visit with James and Shawn this afternoon, then Leslie and Melissa later for dinner and a concert.  I can get used to this no 8 to 5 lifestyle!  Though one day of work remains at Black Gold on Friday, February 1.  Sushi and beers after for my going away shindig will be good times.  It happens to be Andy's last day at Sitelines as well so a party is appropriately in order.  The next morning we are having a garage sale and I can see it now:  we are woken up from our drunk slumber at 5am with a bang on the door from one of those agro garage sale geeks ready to buy their treasures from our junk.  Boy, what a morning of fun that will be!

Nerves and excitement regularly pass through me as the hours and days pass, like the feelings during the ebb and flow of rapids while white water rafting.  I have never felt more alive and it's only going to grow as the trip bears on.  Hell yes!   They say that clarity is 80% of happiness and I am crystal.  (by Stacy)

Happy New Year!

Only 48 days until we board an airplane bound for Nadi, Fiji. I envision a comfortable ten hour red-eye, seated snugly against my husband with a giant smile on my face. "We've really done it!" I'll say and drift off to sleep with visions of palm trees and clear blue waters lapping at my feet. No, we are not in first nor business class as you might imagine a "comfortable" flight to be, but simply reveling the in the incredulousness of what we have just done! We chose to leave our comfort zone behind in sunny Southern California and are left with the packs on our backs and each other for the next year or two. I am at such peace inside knowing this is our next chapter in life. I can barely begin to scratch the surface thinking of the places we will see, people we will meet and adventures we will experience. 2008 is going to be a fantastic year I can just feel it. But now it's time to live in the present and enjoy my step aerobics gym class tonight, as this is one of my small luxuries that I must treasure before we go. (by Stacy)
